Guillemots? I'll take mine Black!

Hello and welcome to our first blog post. After we (the two Pauls) arrived in Donegal we were straight to work completing the remaining cliff sections of Black Guillemot surveys, a time-sensitive survey which we needed to complete in a week! Breeding Black Guillemots are difficult to survey once they nest in cliff crevices as they don't leave the nest and display on the water like they do earlier in the season, so we were pushed to get the remaining surveys completed. We started in Bundoran (no time to go surfing) and covered sites up to Malin Beg, north of Glencolmbkille. 64 Black Guillemots were spotted by me and Paul W, with a particular hot spot north of Glencolmbkille.
